Need Help on Rearview Mirror Removal 2000 S-Type 3.0
My rearview mirror on my 2000 S-Type 3.0 has the classic fluid issue. So I want to remove the mirror so I ensure I order the correct replacement (since there are so many different models). My plan is get a used one on eBay.
I read previous posts so I know with this type of mirror, the large plastic base doesn't come off and you have pull the plastic base parallel to the windshield and towards the engine.
I pulled as hard a I can (it's hard to get good grip on the plastic base) without success. I then took a small piece of wood, inserted it just above the socket joint of the mirror and banged on it to try the force the base down without success. I was afraid to hit it too hard so that I could damage the socket joint (thus the mirror wouldn't hold it's position).
So does anybody have any "tricks" I can use to remove my mirror?
