I need to replace the self-dimming mirror in my 2000 S-type, but I can't figure out how to remove it.

Mine has a large plastic triangular sort of cover over the area where the mirror attaches to the windshield, and no visible set screw. I searched this forum, and someone said it just slides off, but I think that is for the second generation 2003+ mirrors, which have a slimmer plastic cover than mine, so the attaching mechanism is probably different. Thanks!

 

most of them pop off, you can use a plastic tool available at most auto parts stores, looks like a tiny spatula, and pop the cover off
