Default Need New Spark Plugs?

As the title says do I need new spark plugs/coils ? I'm currently away from home in another state working & away from my S-Type ...I do however get to drive a nice company vehicle (2015 Chevy Silverado 2500HD).

Reason I'm asking if I need new spark plugs/coils is because I went home this past 4th of July...I took my Stype to the automatic car wash and as I was sitting there I felt a little rumble...only happened once I believe. The following day I was pulling out of my driveway and the engine light turns on and a restricted performance message...I kept on driving as I had to do some things...felt normal as if it didn't have restricted performance....I get home 1 hr later engine light still on...following morning it was gone....it hasn't came back according to my mother (left it at my mothers home) I didn't have my OBD scanner with me when the engine light was on so I didn't get any codes....I have done a little research and seen that it may be misfiring due to bad spark plugs and/or coils???? What do y'all think?

If spark plugs and coils need replacement what plugs and coils are recommended for a 2005 S Type 4.2 V8 (not supercharged) ?
I wouldn't mind paying $10 a plug.

If my cat is due for new plugs and coils any other parts in the area that may also need maintenance/replacement ?

I would like to order parts online and get them shipped home or my mothers so when I get a chance to go home I could replace parts.

thanks for helping & reading !

Plugs are due at 100K miles, so I'm guessing no. Probably you got a sensor wet that didn't want to be - or worse, the PCM (sits below bottom of windshield behind glovebox. Should all be waterproof but can fail to be.

Read codes, consider an elm327 as also does live data.

Agreed. Automatic car washes are notorious for causing engine bay moisture problems in these cars. Just monitor your car's situation for the time being. And stay away from the automatic car wash places....

A third vote for temporary car wash induced issues.

Possibly guys...I did seal the weather strip on the bottom of the windshield a few months back because it wasn't and it wasn't two months ago that I had to remove some of the sealant to install a new cabin filter and didn't re seal it...as I forgot.

I hand wash mine after all the issues I read about online prior to buying it. As much as I do love the car, it suffers from multiple water issues related to a combination of poor design from Ford and cheap parts. Door jams and the trunk just to name a few other problem areas to look out for. All that being said, I love my jag! She has bodylines I'm in love with and wouldn't trade her for anything... except maybe a newer STR. Haha.
