Default need a shift knob for a manual tranny Stype

hey guys so my shift knob on my 03 manual tranny S-type has been loosing some color and now the leather is falling off in pieces and i wanted to ask if anyone can help me find one. Im scared to even call the dealership because knowing their prices i dont even want to ask...btw its a tan color. ANY help will be appreciated thank you..

Also how can i remove mine?

check ebay. to remove there are 2 allen wrench screws on our '05 at the 6 and 9 o'clock postion.

ebay only has them for an automatic transmission. I need one for a manual and mine doesnt have any screws

I also have a 03 with a manual transmission. Had the same problem with the shift knob and could not find an aftermarket replacement. As you probably know, the knob is not the screw in type but more of a box within a box connection. I ended up buying the knob from the dealer ($125). Have had good luck with the manual. Unfortunatly Getrag does not support a parts program for the transmission. If you do have trouble with gear engagement have a transmission shop check the linkage which is often the problem.

thanks for the info and yeah i called the dealership and they wanted $113 so im just gonna keep looking. and i have a question for you does yours also start jerking when switching into second when the gas tank is getting empty?

Have not had that problem. Sounds like something other than the transmission. I try to fill up around the one quarter tank marker. I seem to recall that the fuel pump is in the tank, and if you run a fair amount at the empty mark, you can damage the fuel pump as it could suck air. This might be your problem.

srjag did you check with ken@britishparts.com ? He advetises here and is a wealth of knowledge. He is not a Jaguar dealer.

joycesjag sorry for the delayed response. i checked with ken and he was unable to find one. thanks anyways. any other ideas will be greatly appreciated. and i will make sure to fill up earlier now because i dont want to break anything on my beauty

hahaha its a fun little thing but i want to keep this car classy..its mostly a weekend car anyways. thanks for your help though

so i guess im gona have to get it from my dealer? i found sites online that sells aftermarket knobs but i don't know if they're compatible, they are the box connection type though.
