New to forum and plz help
Hello, i live in Philippines and i have a 2001 s-type 4.0.
Love this car until i bought it. Currently it has few problems.
When car is stopped at signal engine idles jurks and aircon shuts down.
Driving in philippines without an aircon is impossible. So, after turn off
The motor and turn it back on it works for few mins and does same thing again.
I decided to bring it to mechanic in Manila but they couldnt diagnose the computer since original chassis number could not be matched???
It was sitting in that shop for few months to figure out the problem.
Finally they came up with a solution that unplug something from computer.
Now aircon is constantly working with very weird noises and speedo is dead.
Plus i cant lock the door from drivers side. Only from front passenger side i can
Lock the car. I heard jags have lots of electrical problems, but anyone can plz help? Thanks

Reconnect it and don't go back there!
Chances are it's an air leak, or bad O2 sensor, but not a lot to go on. If you can get an OBD tool with live data, look at LTFTs (see my sig) and go round the sensors to see if any are clearly out of range.
You can use an elm327 but some are cheap clones so don't work...

If you are going to own a Jaguar and NOT use the dealer you need to learn about the car. We have the JTIS and the JEPC for free on this forum. Both are required to properly work on your car.
You have an early V-8 these have timing chain tensioner problems that MUST be fixed. If not they will fail and destroy your engine. Also from the description you most likely need to replace all 8 coils, all 8 spark plugs and replace the cam cover gaskets. This is just normal repair.
Remember your car is now over 13 years old. We don't know how many miles you have??
Finally you should check for codes and I am surprised you don't have a light on the dash indicating you have problems??

I took it to Jaguar dealership already, but after replacing coils, this sensor that sensor, etc etc they gave up. In dollars i think already over 8000 dollars has been spent for repair but seems like nobody seems like to know what the problem is. Im highly thinking that it could be faulty ecu or faulty electrical wire?
I will list down things it has been replaced so far...

The list will help but we need to back up a minute and do some proper trouble shooting.
You need to read the codes. This is the only way we can really fix anything as just changing parts is expensive and not likely to work.
Can you get the codes read? Then erase them and drive the car to see what comes back. You have a number of problems which makes it even more difficult to figure out what's going on.
Finally many problems if the battery is not up to full strength. How old is your battery?
