New guy needs help
Hello everyone, my name is Ryan and I am working on the family's 2000 Jaguar S-Type 4.0
A very long story short is the car developed a slight tick while my mom was driving to work one day. On her way home it came and went. When she got it home I took it out for a short drive and noticed it. I came back home, got a stethoscope and determine it was coming from the driver's side of the engine. However, it did not seem to be coming from the valve covers. While at an idle and inspecting it, in about a second it became a very noticeable knock and before I could get to the ignition, I heard the dreaded clunk against the side of the block then nothing. It had thrown a rod! The engine had about 180,000 miles on it but was serviced regularly. I am curently building a 71 Chevelle and did not have the time to start working on this so we took it to a trusted mechanic. After many problems with him, the car is back at my house and I am stuck with fixing it. The rods had gone through the sleeves and into the water jacket, at the bottom end, the neighboring rod went through the oil gallery/edge of the block. Basically the block was trash. I have all the other parts off ofthe block though.
I am in desperate need of some information. I have been searching for rebuilt/reman/used engines and have come up with VERY little. Does anyone have any suggestions as to where to look? Also, I did not remove the engine so I will need some wiring schematics/shop service manual for this, are they even available for Jaguars?
Thank you for your time!

Also, where do you guys recommend to get some general service parts. I noticed the trans mount is worn out and one of the engine mounts is also. Where could I get some of these types of parts, they seem hard to come by! Thanks again!
