Hi Everyone,

I just joined Jaguar Forums, and am the proud new owner of a 2001 S-Type 4.0

It wasn't my first choice. I just spotted a good deal and bought it, and was pleasantly surprised with the car. I love it, almost everything about it. Of course it would be nice if the heated seats stayed on, and if the plasticy bits didn't make noise in the cabin - but it drives great, sounds great, and feels classy.

I'm a Realtor and this seems to be the perfect inexpensive car for someone without deep pockets.

I drive a LOT (50-70k/year) and the car already has 238,000km on it, which is approximately 150,000 miles for you Americans. Any advice is always welcome!!

Zak

Welcome Zak. The heated seats will eventually go off after reaching full temp. Spend some time isolating then tightening down the squeaky panels, etc.

Ya the squeekyness of the car is something that always bothered me. The panels seem to move around a lot in these things.

Hi Zak,

Welcome to the group! I replied to your separate question about octane elsewhere.

Thanks guys. I'm starting to really like this car!

I have to error codes, p0171 (rear o2) and p0302 (cylinder 2 misfire).

Now I know that the common culprit for the misfire is the coil, and sometimes the injector, but which do I replace first? Should I be replacing just the one, or all 8? Should there be anything else I should be looking at?

With the o2 sensor.... how many rear sensors are there? Will a bad rear sensor cause any trouble if I don't replace it? Does it's demise necessarily suggest a bad catalytic converter?

Thanks again for your help and support!
