NEW TIRES AND RIM
Hi Guys,
I had a set of Daat D65 rims on the car with 225x40x18 tires. Hit some pot-holes and broke about a 10"s of the rim away. Car seem to always ride very hard with these tires. I decided to get all new rims and tires. Got them from the Wheel Warehouse in Cal.
They came the other day and had them installed by one of my customers who has a tire business. The new rims are by Sporza Estrada in chrome, one hell of a nice rim. Tires I changed to a Toyo Proxes 4s, 245x45x18s. The 45 made a big difference in the ride, best move was getting away from the 40s, pot-holes will kill the rims. Now I feel the Jag rides like a Jag should. The Wheel Warehouse in Cal. have a great collection of rims for a Jag.
Regards

I was thinking of getting some 19’s x 8.5 with 225/45/19’s, but I see that you are rocking some 245's, any rubbing or other issues?
Thanks cosworth for posting a photo of the rim. They were 250 per rim, offset is 45 and I rubbed one time already on a gooddip in the road. No mark on the tire. The rims look real good on thr car.
Momo hope this answered your question also.

It does, so I guess I'll need my fenders rolled. Not a big deal. Problem is that 225/45/19's are harder to come by and are quite bit more expensive. For some reason the 245/45/19's are about $100 cheaper per tire.

I would be very careful about getting a 245x45x19 tire for the car. that extra 1" will bring the tire I think a little to close to the fender.
Also what do you mean by getting the fender rolled?

Fender rolling is a process in which one makes more clearance in the fender arches of a vehicle. Typically this process allows for the use of wider/taller tires without the rubbing that normally comes with wider/taller tires. It should cost @ $40 per wheel. I think you can buy this tool and DIY, but I would rather havesome else do it, as I don't want to bend something or mess up the paint, inspite of that being the next on to do list.
