Does anyone know if you can buy Genuine Jaguar Nimbus Grey Headliner Fabric? A number of web sites offer a number of greys, but I'd like to get an exact match. Thanks.

 

I believe you can - it's pricey though...

 

Try a well-established auto upholstery shop. They will have 30 or more grey fabrics to choose from, and you'll likely find one that matches perfectly for much, much less than you'll have to pay Jaguar....

 

I have been trying to match a gray headliner fabric for my 99 Jag VDP, sending samples to a half dozen fabric suppliers. But, no match. Since the visors and trim are the original fabric / color, I want to match them. I haven't tried the Jag dealer.

 

Unless you are competing in Concours, a close but not exact match will look just fine. Remember the trim and sunvisors have changed colors a bit due to age.

 

I've been looking for the exact Headliner Fabric you mention for my 2005 Jaguar XK8 Convertible. Did you ever find the exact match? Where might I look. I want to recover the A pillars only, the headliner itself is in pretty good shape. I only need a small amount of fabric to do this.

I replaced the headliner in my 1999 Jag VDP with fabric from Bowen Foam & Fabrics in Houston. I only replaced the headline and sunroof - not the vanity light assembly, sun visors. I searched for the original, but couldn't find it (didn't try Jaguar). The Oak from Bowen was as close as I could find. On causal observation, no one can tell, but upon close inspection one can notice a slight difference. Hope this helps.

FYI - I had it professionally replaced. The headline has to be bent (careful - it can break) to get it back in the car and then steamed to loosen the glue and smooth out. It takes several weeks for the smell of the adhesive to go away.
