No beeps chimes or tones From my instrument panel
Well in trying to figure out why my front parking aid sensors don’t appear to work I determined that they actually do work and I’ve got a signal indicating I’m getting close to something all the way up to the connector going into the instrument panel bythe drivers door. But there is no sound. And then I started thinking- I don’t get any sound when I open my door with the key in the ignition or with the headlights or when my seatbelt is undone.
Has anybody experience this, I believe there is a speaker of some sort in the instrument panel cluster that does all this. has anybody remove that yet because there is no instructions on the Internet as far as I can see

Do you get a click, click, click with the turn signals on? Recently I got to wondering about the source, as there is no separate flasher like on older cars. Using my amazing powers of reasoning, I deduced the General Electronic Control Module is the likely source. It is located under the dash, outboard in the door pillar area. Could this also sound the chimes, etc.?

Just no sounds from anything up front
I just listened to my beeper....key in, door open....it sounds like it is behind or part of the instrument pack....same beeper for fasten seat belts and other notifications....not sure about the park aid sounder up front....it is fainter and lower pitched to me and seems more above my head....the beeper is definately a chime while the park aid is more of a boop, boop, if that makes any sense....hope this helps some

Yes I read someplace in one of the manuals that I have from Jaguar that the Parkade paper is in the instrument panel cluster so I’m assuming it is the same beeper part as all the other noise making sounds and warnings. Just a different tone. But I don’t know for sure

Just for you, I broke out my Steelman Engine Ear electronic stethoscope. It has a highly directional microphone that could pinpoint a butterfly farting at 50 yards:

On my '02, all sounds came from the bottom center of the instrument panel. This includes door ajar, headlights left on, turn signal clacker, and bad neighborhood alert. (The last one is tied in with the power door locks.) Curiously, I noticed the turn signal clacker stops if you open the door. I guess the chime for "Hey dummy, don't forget your keys!" is considered higher priority .
Edit: I forgot to mention the rear parking aid has its own speaker at the rear parcel shelf.
