bump....im leaving in 45 min, I will be passing parts store and I want to replace this bad or wrong thermostat. Should we be using the alternate temp thermostat in these cars or in wisconsin? I have access to a 180deg thermostat or 192 (which was what i put in the other day and causes overheat). Please let me know asap if anyone knows....

Use the stock temp thermostat which is 190 degrees or more.

Default Fixed...

Dccv valve gave the car heat. I have no theremostat in yet, and still working on the "3 day bleeds" overnight everynight. But I think we are ok. I was getting blazing hot 125-130 deg F heat out of vents last night. Let it set overnight to bleed itself, going out this morning to top off and heat up again.

It still was starting to kick the radiator fan on last night during bleeding. I hope the waterpump isnt next...it does seem to have better heat during acceleration and over 2000 rpms versus idling.

Glad to see you have heat after replacing the DCCV and bleeding.

Once the thermostat is installed and the system completely purged of air, you should have consistent heat at all engine speeds.
