Noisy Power Seat

The power seat of my 2002 S type makes alot of noise when sliding front and back. However, it does not make a sound when going up and down. It sounds like a grinding noise. Does anyone know if this is a common problem and specifically what part in the pooer seat is causing the problem. Thanks.
Is it possible that somethings caught in the screws that drive the seat back and forth? I would try cleaning them real good and check for any debris that might be in there and give it a light grease.
I had the same issue. I removed the seat, removed the backets, and blew all the trash out of there. I then put WD40 on the rails and the noise REDUCED...not went away. I think it might be a motor issue, but not 100 percent sure.
