Default Odometer

2001 S-type 4.0, if the odometer is fading in and out, is it still keeping count of mileage when faded out?

Good question. Make note of the odometer reading the next time you can see it. Then drive the car for a day or two and check the reading again when the display returns....

It should, since it's only displaying what the computer is capturing. Same generation Ford trucks have a cold solder joint problem at the display, which will be totally blank until you resolder the pins, You don't lose the odo info in those cases. Logically, it makes sense, otherwise we'd all like to roll back our mileage to ZERO and have brand new S-Types?
