oil change

how often should i get an oil change using synthetic? someone said every 6,000 another person said 3,000
any advice would be helpful

What are your driving habits like? Lots of highway miles on a daily commute or short frequent trips around town with no highway? Somewhere in between?

the dealer told me it's a waste of money to put synthetic in my car bc the previous owner used regular oil. Altough I'll put synthetic I will have to change it every 3000 miles.Is it true guys? thetechs that work in dealerships will now better.
