Default Oil confusion

Hello everyone,
I have read the following in my Driver's Handbook about oil and I am confused about which grade of oil is right for my car. The ambient temperature here in Bahrain nudges 50 degrees in summer and never gets lower than about 15 degrees in winter. Does that mean I should be using 0w-40 oil?Any advice is appreciated!

What the chart is telling you in an awkward sort of way is that the second digit in the oil spec should be '40' to deal with high ambient temps. That means either 0W40 or 5W40 etc. would be fine.
