oil leak
I have a 2001 s type, 3.0.... Oil from my upper intake port is leaking onto my exhaust and causing it to smoke when its hot. When i stop at a stop light or so, smoke temporarily fills the cars and smells. What would be the fix for that? Is it a gasket inside the intake port?
Yes. The two intake manifold tuner valves (upper and lower) have yellow-colored O-rings that tend to fail on every V6 engine. The fix is to replace them with the new-and-improved green-colored O-rings. They are thicker, rounder, and create a leakproof seal. There are many threads on this forum that will take you through the installation process. Simply search "intake manifold tuner O-rings" and you'll find all the information you need to know to do the job yourself. The two new O-rings should cost between five and ten bucks, total, at the Jaguar dealership....
