Default Oil light on - oil pressure?

My oil light started to go on. It happens after a short (6mi) commute to/from work. Strangely it goes away if I pull over and put it on neutral.

Oil level if fine, last change was 1.5Kmi back. No error codes.

This must be something related to oil pressure, so I tried to check it with the bluetooth OBDII reader and Torque Android app.

It seems that Torque doesn't have a gauge for oil pressure. Could someone please confirm that oil pressure is really exposed through OBDII on S-Type and I should just try some more advanced application, probably on a laptop?

Thanks

It's just a switch so at most OBD could say open/closed and you have a light doing that. You could try looking at EOT (oil temperature).

The switch is a GECM feature and most OBD software won't do GECM PIDs. Torque's quite limited so doesn't.

Probably a faulty switch / bad wiring/connection.

You need to get it into a shop and have the oil pressure verified with a gauge.

Just found a great explanation that seems to be relevant:

Your oil pressure light comes on after oil gets warmed up but your oil was just changed you were told it was the oil sender but it only does it at idle

If that is true - the only way to fix that is to either repair the engine or to use a thicker oil.
Soon will see what the shop says.

I don't see how that would fit with what you reported. Especially: in Neutral you have the lowest revs.
