Default Oil Pump Cross Reference: S Type / Lincoln LS

Does anyone know for "certain" that the 4.0 liter oil pump from an 01 model S Type will work on the 01 Lincoln LS 3.9 Liter? I have a newly built engine for my LS and Ford has discontinued the oil pump for it. No aftermarket companies make an oil pump for the 3.9 but I have found oil pumps for the 4.0 Liter Jag. If it is a "guaranteed" cross reference, then I know I can move forward and not tear up $3500 worth engine building.

Thanks in advance.

The Jaguar V8 has 2 different oil pumps. One has an inlet and an outlet on the pump body that bolts to the block and the other has the pick-up tube on the pump itself (From Engine (0108130000)) with only the output to the block. The early one uses the block passage as the inlet for oil with the plastic pickup tube on the lower part of the bedplate.

Jaguar changed sometime in 2002 models so the later 4.0 has the later pump.

The later pump has an oil pipe to lube the chains.

There is an old TSB with a drawing of the new style pump XJ/XK 100-21 'Oil Pump Resonance'-replace pump.

I tried to upload but it is over 2mb so it failed.

I don't know which one Lincoln used.

The bottom of 2 pumps in the link below looks identical to my pump. I am trying verify from a member on the Lincoln forum which type the 01 had. Lincoln also made a change in 03.

Jaguar S-Type Oil Pump - E - Discount Oil Pump | DriveWire.com

I will check back in as soon as I get verification. Thanks for the info.

Here is what my contact on the Lincoln forum found.

DAMPENER BOLT (NEW vs. OLD) & OIL PUMP - Lincoln vs Cadillac

The oil pump I bought off of ebay said in the listing that it was for an 03 but the box it was in had 00-01 LS hand written on it. I know this much, the oil pump in the bottom pic of the above link is JUST like the one I bought. If I am reading the pics in the above link correctly, I have the correct pump. Unless it is the 00-01 that is indeed the top pic of the two shown.

Can you tell which is which?

The 2 pumps are different!!!!!!!
The one pump ($428.05) has 2 holes in the gasket to the block and the other ($172.95) has one hole to the block, the chain lube pipe and the round pickup tube hole on the bottom!!!!!

You need to determine what pump you have!!!!!!!!!

Looks as we both posted at the same time. Check my post above your last post.

Thanks.

I know what the difference is now.....build dates. The engine I had built has a build date of prior to 3/22/01. Of course my luck is that I need the $428.05 pump(Drivewire.com Part #: W0133-1597920). So with that being said, now I need to know if that pump will indeed cross reference to the Lincoln 3.9 liter without issue?
