Hello

Can anybody offer some advice on the following issue please?

We have a 2006 S Type 2.7 Diesel.
The issue is the orange warning light is coming on (usually on first startup but sometimes during a journey) and the car goes into restricted performance mode. The light will often go off by turning the ignition off and restarting the car.
The car is running well with no other noticeable issues.
Diagnostics are not showing any fault codes so we are unsure how else to identify the issue.

Any advice much appreciated.

What is the age and condition of the battery? A failing or weak battery can cause random DTCs and electrical 'faults'. The battery should have 12.6 volts across the terminals with the ignition in the off position for at least ten minutes. If not, charge the battery overnight at 5 to 10 amps and retest. If the battery is still showing less than 12.6 volts, it should be replaced prior to further diagnostic work.

You may also want to post your enquiry in the UK/Eire forum as this forum is mostly made up of owners from North America. Jaguar did not offer a diesel variant of the X200/X202 in North America.
