I have an 03 3.0 S-type with a P420 engine code (catalytic fault) - car runs fine but I am not in financial position to fix the problem at the moment. I need to get the car inspected so i can renew the tags, and in my state I can get through the inspection if there is still one outstanding diagnostic test - I have been told (and hoping it is true) that the catalytic test that is failing is the last test. Does anyone know if this is true, and if so, at what point (mileage, # starts, whatever the case) after a reset should I expect this test to occur? I just need to slide through this inspection and save up for the proper repair. Any advice on this or alternative fixes would be appreciated!
