Default Overhead Console GDO

My wife noticed that the #1 Homelink GDO button in her S-Type was becoming loose and seemed likely to fail in the near future. We have used the #1 button for the entire 16 years we have owned the car. I checked the price of a new overhead console with Homelink, sunroof control, and interior lights, and found that Jaguar charges about $1200 for a replacement. I solved the problem by programming the #2 button before the #1 button broke and fell out. I am posting this to recommend that anyone who has a Homelink in their car consider changing their active button before it wears out. Hope this helps somebody out there. Carl

Anyone know how to remove that console without breaking the clips? My buttons feel less than sturdy and I want to investigate whats going on but I hate breaking plastic clips removing stuff like that

The removal instructions that I have seen call for the removal of a torx screw in the sunglasses compartment before trying the clips. My car has such a screw. Good Luck!
