Default Armrest open button stucks

Does anybody know how to disassemble center console where button for opening armrest is? My button stucks in with pushed position and i need to get inside it to put some grease inside it (hope it helps) to make it work more smoother.
Thanks

Mine also got stuck. Panel was replaced under warranty. The dealer informed me they do not attempt to repair this.

Did you manage to fix the button. Mine is also doing the same thing. Feels like its all clogged up and making the button stick and then slowly comes up.

Exactly whay mine does. No i haven't because i was hopping somebody will provide with instructions from workshop manual to get solved without any damages, but no luck. So i will visit some garage to repair it. As i know it is mostly common thing on X351 as poping sunroof.

Has anyone tried just lubricating it? Mine is only a problem when it's really cold, but it appears to me that some lubricant could possibly work wonders. More important question: is there any good reason NOT to lubricate it? Don't want to mess anything up!

Mine is fixed. Do not ask me how - i do not know, but guys from the garage get it fixed quickly. I will try to ask what was the problem.
Mine also works as worse as it was colder outside.

I hate the idea of putting a lubricant into the button slot but as have nothing to lose tried some silicon spray which didn't help. So tried a little bit of white spirit on a sponge, dripped it in and I must say the button is returning faster and is acceptable for me now. Hope this helps.

Mine doesn't stick down, but is very hard to push down. Anyone who comes up with a valid fix would be my hero.

You used white spirit, a paint thinner? I guess that could act as a degreaser... never thought of that. I was considering trying penetrating oil.

Default Fix for sticky center console button

I have managed to fix my sticking centre console button. I took the whole thing apart and noticed there was a build up of grease in the groove where the button pushes down. I have put together a document of what I did so hope this helps solve your problem if similar to mine.

Thanks for the instructions. I did this today. Cleaning the grease didn't work, but adding new grease made all the difference. I assume it'll get dirty again, but at least for now it works like new.

Also, the trim removal is just nasty on this car. Several clips broke off in place, and I added a slight crack to a trim piece.

The armrest lid not latching is an easy fix in less than a minute. It is not necessary to replace the entire armrest assembly or disassemble anything. You just need to know what to look for. Most importantly, do not spray any lubricant into the mechanism, as it will attract dust and dirt that is the cause of the problem.

For details, see my 2017 thread:
