Default Overhead Console Removal

Ok, so I want to remove the overhead console and take a crack at installing a homelink garage opener. Does anyone have instructions or better yet can point me to a video to take that down?

Check out androulakis post 02-06-11 "DIY: Adding Homelink to an 03+ S Type FAQ".

Get your fingers under the front of the Console and yank it down hard.

Default Plug and Play?

I can acquire an overhead console with homelink. Question: do I need a wiring harness to adapt it to my car that didn't have the homelink originally installed? Does the console have that wiring adapter already?

The replacement Console with the Homelink Garage Door opener will plug in to the electrics with no additional wiring required.

Check the post I suggested it has all the info that you are seeking.
