Question P0174 -System too lean (Bank 2). Help me with the Freeze frame data.

My dreaded P0174 code popped up again. I thought I had this fixed when I found a cracked hose that connects the PCV Vacuum line into the intake. I replaced the rubber piece, cleared the code, and went a week and half before it popped up again.

I have inspected all the hoses according to post below and don't see anything wrong with the other hoses. This weekend I will take a better look when I do the 100,xxx mile maintenance on the Jag (replace sparks, coils, upper and lower intake seals, fuel filter, cabin and air filter, and oil change).

https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/s...ics-faq-52720/

Can anything from the data below indicate the problem? Like perhaps the o2 sensor is bad?

Freeze Frame Data:

Fuel Sys 1 - CL
Fuel Sys 2 - CL
Calc LOAD (%) - 49.8
ECT (F) - 204
STFT B1 (%) - 25
LIFT B1 (%) - 6.2
STFT B2 (%) - 24.2
LIFT B2 (%) - 7.8
Fuel Pres (PSI) - 53.5
MAP(inHg) - 27.4
Eng RPM - 2055
Veh Speed (mph) - 21
IAT (F) - 89
MAP (lb/min) - 4.750
TPS (%) - 34.9

Any help would greatly be appreciated.

Do your "tune up" first, then see what happens. My guess is that once you replace the IMT O-rings you may be pleasantly surprised.

Thanks Rick for the reply back.

I forgot to mention in my post, I replaced the IMT O-rings when I replaced the cracked hose described in my original post (about two weeks ago). I didn't have the time to remove the intake at that time so I used the short method.

With the mileage on your 2003 you might get luck then with the upper and lower intake gaskets.

In the "90k mileage thread" you read, that was a big factor in Joels vehicle. Two of the lower intakes were leaking.

Good to know. I will update the thread this weekend after I do the maintenance.

Thanks again Rick!

Misfires are inevitably also lean conditions as there are O2 sensors which see the unused air.

Just an update, the check engine light was off this morning when I drove to work.

Still doing the 100,000 maintenance this weekend and ordered a valve cover gasket just in case.
