Hi, have just had the codes read on my 2002 V6 S Type. I'm getting a DSC Fault constantly. The two codes that were stored were C1277 Steering Sensor, and P0814 (Transmission Range Display Circuit).

I can't find much information about the P0814 (Transmission Range Display Circuit) code - can anyone explain what it means, and where the sensor is located in the car?

The P0814 I show as a “J” Gate illumination failure – gear selection short or open circuit.

The C1277 I have no experience with this but I show it on another model car as a Steering angle sensor circuit possible cause open circuit or short circuit, short circuit to ground, high resistance
