Default Park Brake Fault

My 2007 Jaguar S-type 3.0 has a Park Brake Fault. The car drives like a dream and always has driven well. This morning, however, when I cranked the engine, like I do in the mornings to let it warm up, I came back to the car to see that the Park Brake Fault light was on ( solid amber light). The park brake had been set the night before, as it always is, so it was literally "stuck" in Park Brake mode. Therefore, with the fault, the car would not move when put in drive mode. Thank God for AAA free towing to my mechanic, not the Jaguar dealership who wants $300 just to "inspect" it. LOL. Luckily, I have a second vehicle I can drive while the Jaguar is in the shop. No word from my mechanic yet. Anyone ever had this exact issue? If so, would you mind sharing your results of the problem/repair? Thanks to all who respond.
