Parking brake actuator questions
The parking brake actuator on my 05 4.2 S-type [not a R] has fallen apart. The 2 bolts holding the mechanism together have backed out stripping the threaded holes resulting in the assembly opening up and the gears falling out. Needless to say, I need a new assembly.
Checking with the usual sources I find that they are a special order item and well over $800 on the average. I have decided to go with a guaranteed and tested used item off of eBay.
My question is there seems to be a number of different markings on various examples and I was wondering if anyone had an idea what the codes mean?
The existing is stamped 13.0 VDC 24019280 followed by the line 5757 PB2 Rev "2" and then B04152134428 and Made in Mexico. Looking at the ones for sale it appears that the B04..... is the serial number. The first line with the 24019280 is the model number. My question is what does the 5757 PB2 Rev "2" refer to? The examples online have a number of different codes in this line with different Rev #'s and code #'s. Are they all the same and just various updates? Are there differences [I know the R model is different] over the years? Should I look for a unit with exactly the same numbers?
Lastly, are there any tricks in installing a replacement unit? It looks fairly straightforward but I thought someone may have already been down this road and might have some advice.

You're lucky your in the US as they'd be plenty used ones available there. Used from fleabay always an unknown, finding a good Jaguar wrecker may be another option.
You're also lucky you don't have an earlier X202 as the cables leading to the calipers were moved to behind the diff of the later cars.
Maybe check with AUTO RESERVE out of the UK. When I last checked, they had a few used ones for the NA V8 fairly well priced.
