Default Moving to united Kingdom for 2 years

Hello everyone
this question is regarding the mot hopefully someone in uk can help
I have had confirmation from uk customs
That I can bring two of my cars to uk with no customs or vat tax to be paid since its not classified as a permanent import
so hopefully everything goes well
I am going to take my wife's 4.2 s type and one of my str,s
So my question is
The str,s are not running catalytic convertconverters as not required in new Zealand
what are the Requirements in the uk
I still have the compleate front cat sections which can be easily bolted on if needed
I have tried looking up uk mot cheek list but had no luck
hopefully someone can help
this is the str I want to bring over
Thanking you
Darrol

I expect they will need to be "roadworthy". I don't know an exact definition under English law.

Will you need to present them for an MoT? I don't know but I suspect not.

hmm, 2 years is quite long. So, you may indeed need to MoT them.

Insurance is likely to be a HUGE issue and very costly. It is mandatory (as in: criminal act if not validly done). Any insurer may require current MoT...

If you do need MoT then cats etc will be needed.

The MoT manual is free to view online (and I find it usefully explanatory).

Darrol, I hope you found my long private message to you about this topic. In short: I would not do this.

I would not bring any cherished car - our climate/weather causes so much rust.

Hello jag v8
Thanks for the reply
Whether is one thing I never thought of

I have been in meetings with my ceo
We have come to a agreement
The company is going to purchase two jaguars for us
they will be company vehicles until we move back to new Zealand in two years time
Then as long as i stay with the company for 4 years they are ours to keep part of my deal to relocate

So my s type s are staying here in New Zealand

We have been in contact with a vehicle broker in the UK
I have decided on a
2018 xjr575 (x351) for myself
my wife can not make her mind up between a
2015 F type R couple 5.0 /sc or a
2018 F pace svr (x761) 5.0/ sc

Hopefully I can finally meet some of you guy
When I get settled in

Thanking you
Darrol
