Default Part identification question

Hey guys, bought a project STR and this part was in the trunk. Can anyone help me identify this part?

As it has no printed Jaguar identification it is probably not a jaguar part, or it is a sub assembly of another part.

Maybe for inside the trunk, under the parcel shelf under the rear window?

Those holes and X-shaped cuts in the insulation look like they are designed to relieve pressure, such as if slamming the trunk lid with the windows open.

That's a very hard to get part.
This is very much a Jaguar part.
Sits under the glove box and filters air for dust etc for the AC fan suction.
Mine was missing and I was very lucky to find a spare.
Just as I was installing it I noticed the AC fan intake had sucked in a plastic bag! So important to have.
Would also stop other dust and dirt entering the AC system.
It is washable despite the delicate appearance of the filter sheet; I sprayed it with a clothes pre wash and gently rinsed it out.
Came up okay.

I kind of suspected that was along the lines of what it did and where it went, thanks for the answer! Can I reinstall it just by removing the glove box or does it just go under the dash without removal?

Yours looks in excellent condition and may not need any cleaning.
Forgot to mention that the filter sheet does look very similar to the insulation sheet used under the rear parcel shelf and under the front windscreen finisher; meaning it wont survive for too long!
In any case you could easily replace the filter sheet with other another appropriate material in this application.

Just saw your message as I was typing.
I'm sure it would be the same on the LHD vehicles, therefore no need to remove the glove box at all. It just clips/slides in and sits on a couple of mounts. I think including the footwell light assembly. If you're a bit **** like me and want to install it with the exact clips, I can have a look at mine and instruct you the exact clips required. To memory they are the regular Ford plastic clips (with the push in type Phillips head plastic screw).
