So I have an S-Type, but I LOVE picnic tables. I've seen the threads about retrofitting x type Jags with VDP seat backs/picnic tables. Does anyone have any idea if the seatbacks also interchangeable with S types?

Is there any hope for me?

I'd take some measurements / buy used from a wrecker (ebay etc).

I don't let anyone eat or drink in my car, though!

 

I was thinking about just installing the wood grain covers in the upright position from an XJ8 VDP, as someone locally had on Craigslist, but I was late on the draw (they were on the other side of town, so I had an excuse). My idea was for cosmetic reasons only. I like JagV8's rule, though.

 

You can set the 'Grey Poupon' on the table/tray, just don't open the bottle!!!!!

I think there was some thought about doing this as I have pictures of the Lincoln LS rear tray tables that never made it to production for the LS.

Since the early S-Type and the LS were very close the seat backs "might" interchange. But I have no idea where to find these since this is the only set I have ever heard of.

And no the seat backs don't interchange with other Jags that I know of.

There's a low volume VDP S-Type out there (I've never seen one personally), and I'm wondering if it has the trays mounted on the correct S-Type seat backs. The burl wood pattern of those pictured seems to match the ST, but the plastic would need Krylon paint to match the Jag's....if it was a close fit.

 

i would to put tables in my jaguar but how would i go about installing them.
