Plug Coil Test

Is there any way to check the function of the coils? Have 8 sitting on the bench, broke one. Is there any way to determine if they are worth putting back in?

Replacing the broken one would be advised. Can you tell us why you want to test them?

Random misfire, no codes, 4 different manufacture coils removed today. $40 ea. to replace but may be time to do so.

Or you can do this test but it does require the removal of the coilpack. You will need this tester that you can get at any parts store.
