my jag indicator came on saying poor preformance...it will go off in approximately 15 minutes, wondering if anyone can help

"poor"? Any hints about what it actually says and what may be wrong? What codes?

 

no codes just a message saying poor performance comes up...if i excellerate when this message comes up the car will run like its timing is off really bad...will not speed up...but after about 15 minutes the message will go away and it will run nice...the only code that ever came up was that i needed an o2 sensor...

 

With a code about an O2 sensor you may well need one (or more).

You can't ignore things and expect anything but grief.
