OK, just a quick update and a chance to say Thanks for your help guys.. She is a nice car, and the dealer did go out of his way somewhat for us but still not the financial deal we wanted.. the search continues, but everything in the past week has very much focused us on what we are looking for... :-)

Not quite yet it would seem :-( For the moment I need to put my search on hold as it is now only a few weeks until the JaguarForums.com Annual Convoy & Meet event and I still have quite a few things to pull into place for that.

So for the moment I have my fingers crossed and am hoping Harwoods are able to loan me a Jaguar for the event on test drive, if not I will be attending in my school run backup car :-)

After further discussions here it looks likely there will be six months or so gap between Jaguars, now looking for 2010 or better S-Type, XJ, or XF specifically, so we need to up our budget which will take a few months.

Meanwhile though, yes I do like S-Types esp if they have XJ engines in them :-)

Yup, I have one of those with an in-service date of March 2008.
As a "Satin Edition" it is one of the last 750 made world-wide.

Once the event is completed I will go back to taking a look at Jaguars - sigh.. 2008 is close enough for me to 2010 though :-)

Hi Guys, an S-Type that my wife has watched for weeks finally dropped in price - wasn't in my immediate area, and wasn't planned on at that moment in time (as always I guess) but was the right model at the right price, reasonable mileage, and year.. and I got to it just before someone else did .. the new thread is at https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/s...s-type-179258/ and it's a diesel - had never ever considered one before.. but I was surprised, it is not radically different in cabin noise, or power than petrol - well impressed, but now I am on a huge learning curve I have just discovered lol
