Default Power Steering Problems

Hello Everyone,

I own a 2003 Jaguar S-type 3.0 that has power steering issues. The issue has been occurring for about 3 months now and I've been adding prestone stop leak power steering fluid every time the fluid gets low. I used to refill about once a month but now I refill once per week. I have added some UV dye and believe I have found the leak. Please see the picture below. I'm speaking specifically about the black tube at the top of the picture.

Does anyone know what this part is called or how to diagnose and replace it? Videos would be preferred if available but a written response will do too if need be.

Thanks in Advance.

You need a new steering rack. Get the entire assembly with a warranty.
Pretty easy job to change out.

Don't use the stop leak junk. It just makes things worse.

How can you tell its's the entire assembly rather than just the tube at the top? To me it looks like the leak at the top of the picture is dripping into the lower parts.

I take it that you don't do mechanic work and you will need to take the car some place for repairs??

With that heavy of a leak put it up in the air and have someone turn the wheel quickly. You'll likely see it leaking.

Its the entire assembly. Time to open up your wallet. For the amount of money you spent on stop leak (which didn't work) you could have a new rack in place already
