Default Powerpoint Failure

My father inlaws 2005 stype 3.0 power point stopped working after a penny fell in the spot. We have checked all the fuses it could be and none seem to be it. Also the cigarette lighter below the radio still works and they all seemed to be on the same circuits. any ideas.

The power point and cigar lighter are on seperate fuses. In '05 they moved the fuses to the trunk from the passenger kick panel for the lighter and power point. I don't have a wiring diagram in front of me but check the trunk fuses if you haven't already.

You were right! There is a seperate fuse for the power point and cigar lighter in the trunk. Powerpoint is f58 and it is a 20 amp and cigar is f56 and it is a 15 amp so probably a good idea to try and stick with the power point for most electronic toys. The driver's manual is confusing because it has atleast 3 other fuses marked as cigar and powerpoint fuse.

O yea and sure enough f58 was blown, the powerpoint cap doesnt seem to snap on to the power point and lock in place, is it suppose to be like this? Seems like a bad design.

The powerpoint cap never fits tightly, I've hated this design from the beginning due to the fact that the powerpoint is in the cubby box where anything could easily fall into the hole. If you get the X-type plug for the cars without ashtray it fits much tighter.
