Default Pressure pluses when sunroof is open

I rarely open my sunroof because I get strong pressure pulses when I do and it bothers my ears. To prevent that I have to crack a window.
Is there something wrong with my roof operation? I checked and the spring loaded "spoiler" at the front is free and pops up correctly.

Do others notice this effect?

We have always gotten the same harmonic distortion effect whenever we opened the moonroof on our 2005 S-Type. It caused irritating ear pain to both of us. Experimenting by opening the moonroof only part of the way did not help. So in this particular car, the moonroof always stays closed....

Rode in a friends Hyundai Tuscon - and the same thing happened when the sunroof was open.

I would suggest trying out one of these:

WeatherTech Sunroof Wind Rain Deflector | WeatherTech.com

They have helped in other models I have owned that had similar harmonic wind noises.

I consider myself lucky that on my S-T it is a base model with no sunroof so no noises (or leaks) to ever worry about!

Default Sun Roof

I run with all windows open so I get a new wind-blown hairstyle.

Yeah, this is pretty common. Cracking a back window works, but I usually just tip up the sunroof's aft edge for freeway use. Still gives a nice airflow, with little noise.

The only time I fully retract the sunroof is around town at low speed, and then only for my wife's benefit. She likes to stand up and collect Mardi Gras beads...
