I am becoming a Jaguar anorak by this question. On my 2004 STR it had a R Badge close to the indicator light, on the 2007 it was dropped. I wonder why was it just one of those things that was done for no particular reason. I am thinking about putting the R Type badge back. Does anybody think I am being a bit weird but I did like this badge in this location and was annoyed when the dropped it.

 

The cars were (apparently) available debadged. Also, some have them on L & R sides. Just fit what you like, where you like

I like the side badges. I upgraded mine to the XF 'R' style badges myself. I like the look, they definitely help modernize the look of the car over the '1st gen' R badges...
