Default Radio Question

On my 2003 Jaguar S-type, I have a telephone button on the audio control, but I don't understand how to use it. What is it for exactly? Does anyone have any idea on how to activate it?

I would like to be able to use it if I can. There are no instructions in the owners manuals provided with the car, the reason I'm asking the questions.

Thanks in advance.

The phone system in your car was made for a Motorola phone that no longer exists. The later models come blu-tooth equipped. I don't think the 03's were wired for blu-tooth, but I could be wrong.

All radio's have the phone button. But the car does not come with the phone module as standard. It is a dealer add on. Been trying to snag one on e-bay since it is REAL expensive from the dealer. So far I got the Sirius add on but no luck on the bluetooth.

Our S-Type came with Bluetooth as it existed in 2005. I was surprised that it actually worked with my wife's relatively new Verizon Wireless cell phone after a couple minutes of her and the Jaguar sales guy trying to sync up the car with the phone. It has worked fine ever since and she loves that feature....
