Default Rear cup holder won't stay in - 2001 S-Type

The right side of the rear cup holder won't stay in. This is the double unit mounted in the rear seat. See photo. Does anyone know how to remove and repair (hopefully) or replace? Thanks.

The Ivory colored end cover snaps off to give you a little more room to look inside the holder. The seat bottom can be removed for better access to the cup holder.

I used to do this repair all the time but it has been a few years. There is a plastic tab/catch that needs to be bent but I forget how it looks. It might be in the NP00 (NEW PRODUCT 2000) student guide in the interior trim section but I need to look for it in my boxes of books. It has been a long time since 1999 when I attended the class.

Get a strong light and look and poke around to try to release the cup holder assy from the seat.
