To refinish or not to refinish - that is the question.
Need some quick advice from my fellow S-Type owners.
I have a 2007 S-Type (3.0) with only 7,157 miles on the odometer. The car is pretty much mint-like condition except for - one medium sized gauge mark (1/2" long) on the top of the Roof that goes through the clear-coat & paint and one small nick on the rear quarter-panel near the tail-light. The imperfections aren't visible unless really looking for them.
Question:
I am OCD by nature and it bugs me that these small imperfections are there. BUT if I have these areas refinished to concours quality, the entire 1-piece proof panel surface with quarter panel surfaces will have to get scuffed up sanded for a uniform clear-coat application; it's a one-piece part.
I have thought about entering my car in future concours competitions for fun - just not sure if it's worth the refinish or not. I don't want to get too carried away.
What do you think?

Wow only 7000 miles, the car needs to get out more.
For what it is worth, if you are going to enter Concours competitions you will have to get it sorted. But it won't end there.
We do have members that are into this type of comp' and the lengths they go to are quite mind blowing.
Don't have the patience myself, but hey, whatever floats your boat.
I enjoy looking at someone else's hard work.
Why not drop into the detailing section and post a pic of the area for Dave and co to have a look at.

Thanks Translator and bfsgross,
Based on your feedback and thinking about it more I'm going to plan to get the blemish fixed - I think it will bug me if I don't, especially if I plan on entering concours events.
In February I purchased and received all brand new OEM leather seating surfaces, OEM carpets, new exterior rocker panel moldings, and new under-body trays for the car. The exterior parts will be prepared, painted, clear-coated, and installed by the specialty Jaguar restoration company that I use.
I'll plan to post detailed pictures as soon as all work is completed (August time-frame).
Regards
