Thanks BF, I am as well and have had '93 LX 5.0, 97 GT, and '03 Cobra. Would have love to have held out for something on my hit list but insurance rental was up this Thursday. Overall I am very happy with it so far and amazed in the improvements since my last stang. I would love to venture back into jag territory again in the future, but when you can't afford a new one the right car needs to be there at the right time...which was my STR.

Everything (limited) came back with too many miles on it and/or asking too much $$. Happy with the deal I got for the pristine stang, but would have much rather been in something unique.

Owner put on a set of Flowmasters, air intake, a black billet grill, and a few interior accents. Car definitely has plenty of power across the band. Should be fun!

Bravo!

Very nice car! One of my favorite American cars as well. That and Ford did the retro part of the Mustang so well. Much better effort, in my opinion, then the Camaro.

Congrats and keep up with the forum! Us "lowly" American car drivers can still hang with the Jag crowd.... well, at least most of them....

If you recall in an old thread...Last year I took a test drive in a 2011 GT. Dealer had her for sale for cheap due to buy back lemon. The motor's bearings failed, motor sent to Ford for remanufacture then back to dealer. Man did that car fly! Snapped off a few 0-60 charges that had to be in the mid 4's. She sounded like a 60's muscle car. Couldn't imagine enjoying the 85 mile roundtrip commute shifting gears. What a blast to drive though. There's so many mods to make it a super street/strip car. The Coyote turbo kit is a ZR-1 slayer (see Youtube). Enjoy Chris. Happy to know you didn't go Caddy, etc.

This whole story is tragic. I went from "I feel your pain, the worst for me was not driving mine untilI got the new one". to "I would miss the rear doors when picking up the kids". The Mustang GT looks great though.

Thanks...funny, my kids have been bitching about not having the back doors and a rear window to put down since I got it on Saturday.

Still too rich for my blood though ...

2011 Cadillac CTS V, $42,977 - Cars.com

I imagine the around town mileage would be horrendous but maybe the hiway is OK if keep your foot out of it???

Sure ... like that'll happen.

This would be a go directly to jail car for me.

LOL! Rick, I had a 1966 Stang...unstretched of course. On my parents driveway, and by myself, planted a V8 (289) motor, 4 speed manual, and rear in place of the 200 six banger and 3 speed manual. Though I've never grown up, the emotions and activities of when I was 18 are flowing. Thanks.

Default Good Luck

Hope you have many safe miles in your GT.
I had a 91 302 25th anniversary convertible and my son currently has
an 11 Boss with track option.
If I had the same time constraints that you had, I'd make the same choice.

Best Regards

Wow! Your son has the Boss... Things a street/strip terror. Aside from the 03-04 Cobra, so happy Ford came back with muscle that kicks GM butt.

Thanks StypeRowner, I am a Mustang guy at heart but really enjoyed the power & luxury of the Jag. My brother also has a Boss w/ track option and races it regularly. Time restraints definitely speed up the process. With the Jag I was ready for a new car but did not need one, so it allowed me to be selective.

Yes, too bad I'm retired or I'd probably buy one. Option is to rob a bank
like I did for the 04 STR new!!!!

You're one of the few here who are an original owner. Nearly three years ago, picked up my 85k mile 03 STR for $11,900. They gave me $3000 trade in allowance for a 2002 X-Type 3.0...so financed $8900 for a beautiful $65k STR. For a daily 85 mile roundtrip commmute, a Boss would be a little too much on the butt and ears, lest not forget the speeding tickets to boot.
