Rear inner mudguard/splash protection for x200 (missing?)
Hi,
Recently bought a 2003 S-type and noticed there are no inner splash guards in the rear wheel house…tried to search for spares but only found for front…
Do they exist or is it supposed to be splashing water dirt and other stuff right into the car chassis?
tried to search on the forum as well but maybe I’m not using the correct term for the parts

They do exist and they need to be in place for protection. It'd be an x202 that you'd be looking for and there are 2 types that were used from the x202 onwards, so a bit more research required to find the right ones. The later ones for the x204, x206 etc. may still fit in the rear.
They're a pain to remove properly and they're easily ruined/ripped if you are not careful in removing.
It may even be possible that the earlier x200 rears may still fit as well.
If you find a used set that fit they may ripped and you need to fix first as they easily keep ripping. I've found that trying to repair them is possible after cleaning and gluing them with the stronger better brands of super glue and reinforcing them on the inner side with a strong reinforced tape; after gluing.
