Default Rear sounder circuit failure

Hello
I have a 2004 4.2 s type
Hopefully someone can shed some light on this fault
C1742 rear sounder circuit failure
I was told that the parking aid sensor module could be faulty
After getting module replaced I still have the same fault
Parking sensors were working fine then one day there was no sound
Thanking you Darrol

I suppose it may be exactly what the wording says - the sounder's circuit (which I guess may include the sensor).

Whoever said instead that it could be the module... kinda weird bearing in mind the code's meaning!

If you're not familiar with circuits like these any auto electrician should be able to test it.

Thanks but my guess is that the parking aid sensor speaker has died I have tested it for continuity and there is nothing
Thanks Darrol

I would suggest pulling the part and seeing if you can match it with one from an electronics supply house or an auto parts supplier. Chances are good that it is a Ford part and may have been also used in a Mondeo, etc...
