Hi chaps
My newly acquired S type (2000) came with a ns rear window wedged shut with a really nicely made wooden wedge! The motor is running so thats good. The bloke I got it off said the glass had 'come off' the rail - hmmm!
I have read on here about 'clips being broken' and broken regulators. So none too sure what to order -
So, dropped glass means what? Any help would be fab - read Norri's piece on replacement regulator - really good!

Only 1 way to find out PenR. Even though Norris how to is for a post face lift, it should be very similar to walk you through your removal.

 

Yup, I just had another one go bad. It is the stupid plastic clips that were used.

 

Easy fix! Change the regulator.

Expensive though!!! That is what I hate, it is ~$200 to get a new regulator.

 

True and the early cars are more likely to have this problem. But it happens so much that Amazon and EBay have them for good prices. The last rear one I got was about $80.

The rear regulators are the same as Lincoln LS.
We had to buy 5 Left and 5 Right from the Ford dealer when there was a recall for the US South States.

Jaguar was backordered and we got permission from the district rep to use Ford Parts.
