Remote Climate Control Module 6r8318c612ca: Part Numbers????
I am in the process of selling my gorgeous black 2006 plate, S Type R but I have the small problem of my air conditioning blowing hot air all the time whenever it's switched on, regardless of the temperature setting. So i'm trying to replace/repair the RCCM and probably the DCCV (Heater Valve) before i sell it so that the new buyer has a fully functioning car.
All well known stuff on these forums BUT:
I've had my man attempt the soldering wire bypass repair to no avail and I cannot find anywhere an RCCM with the same part number which is 6r8318c612ca.
There does seem to be quite a few RCCM's on ebay with a similar string of characters with only the last two characters being different and they all look the same.
My question is, does the part number have to be exact? (Jag are not giving up the information) or can other RCCM's from sat nav s types of the same or previous/later years be used in its stead?
I have also just e-mailed jaguarclimatecontrol.com to enquire about repair?
Thanks in advance of some spot on advice,
Dave

Those are not JLR part numbers on the RCCMs you see for sale. The correct JLR part number is VIN specific, which can be XR850830, or XR856428.
It is entirely possible that either, or both, of those part numbers have been superseded, so it is a good idea to always provide the VIN when ordering parts from a Jaguar agency.
