oh yea ! thanks for asking Joycesjag..

so ended up replacing the upstreams air to fule sensors with OEM denso also I got an old OEM denso MAF sensor from amazon for just 25 bucks ,, soon after replacing the MAF sensor i could feel ant read the difference mostly staying around 5.0 ... at idle and then i did replaced the (upstreams) air to fuel sensors also I got the original downstream sensors there ..also I removed and cleaned the MAP sensor placed it back ..

also did another SMOKE TEST AND EXHAUST PRESSURE TEST ( new tool PRESSURE GAGE TOOL I got from amazon ) FOUND NO LEAKS on smoke test and exhaust test - gauge pressure stays a bit past "0" on ALL four sensors inlet/outlet at CATS.. ALTHOUGHT WHEN measuring temperature with "infrared gun " at inlets / outlets at CATS BANK 2 probably around 30 degrees THE WORST BANK 1 around 45 degrees difference ..
I m thinking CATS may be contaminated previously car had blown head gaskets .. with past owner .

outcome NOW : after a week - CAR still idles rough when COLD START after warm up so much better.. so car has PENDING codes ONLY still has codes on " multiple misfires and bank 2 running lean " NO CURRENT CODES AT ALL AFTER A WEEK OF driving it .

ANOTHER ISSUE .. noticed it a couple OF TIMES when filling up with gas at full tank - Car leaks gas - looks like is coming from top of tank , it leaked around a half gallon last time i filled up with fuel. wondering if that is related to he ALWAYS THERE LTFT ON BANK2 HIGH 16.5 at idle it goes down to bellow 5.0 at throttle..

hey buddy! Been offline until yesterday or so. Saw your pm. Maybe I can help. Once I have a minute. I have another s type that some tore the valve covers off so maybe we can run some visual checks on timing

NP. Aarcuda ..

I m at work and NOT driving the car today .. when i get home later today i can let you know .. let me know what to look for or where to start ?

like i stated : LTFT BANK 2 ALWAYS HIGH .around 16.0 at idle than it goes way lower . CATS temp seem to be to close to each other , I believe OUTLET supposse to be warmer at least 100 degrees than
INLET for what i understand !!

fuel leak another issue too. appreciate your help ..

Default Recall on Gas Tanl Seals

Hi Jaimster
There is a recall for gas tank seals on your model. I wonder whether this has got something to do with your rich fuel mixture as a leak may change the mix of fuel and air ratio.

so i called Jaguar corporate and dealer on the RECALL it turns out according to their record - RECALL was taken care back in 2007 .. they wont do it AGAIN. .. SO much for that .. i would never buy a new car from them.

on another note: this morning got bunch of codes CURRENT ones , misfires cylinder 1,3,5, and rate above limit one NO LEAN CODE ON BANK 2 any more . even thought LTFT BANK 2 IS HIGH 18.0 AS OF THIS MORNING !!
its kind of frustrating COLD START idles kind of rough.. ONCE it warms up runs pretty dam good..

Glad to hear you got a/c going man.. heat and huminity is brutal here in TEXAS stay COOL..

None of that sounds like it could be the fuel tank anyway.

I don't understand why you would be mad that Jaguar would not do again something which has been done once and does not need doing again.

they wouldn't give any details on what they Did. at all !! just that it was done NOT upset particularly at Jaguar ,, other Dearlers are the same way ! they dont want to help you unless you pay a fee,, that's what they asked for 179.00 for diagnosis fee

Just for cold poops and giggles. Have you ever thoroughly inspected the intake tube and resonator box for cracks or holes? Look at this thread post #32.

https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/s...-198690/page2/

This will not have anything to do with the gas spillage but, might help with codes.

Have you pulled all 8 plugs yet? I need to see clear photos of the electrodes and what cylinder each plug was from.

As for the head work, did they just repair the one head? or both? If they milled one head and or i you used a non stock head gasket, the cylinder pressures wont be equal bank to bank and I believe that throws the ECU into kaniption fits as it throws an imbalance into the system.

they milled both heads .. last time i did a compression test BANK 1 was around 175, 180 ,180 BANK 2 around 200 , 205,195 i will have to verify those numbers something like that , I posted the results a while back.

I got the head gasket from Rockauto.com !! i can take it apart friday again and post photos of all 6 plugs corresponding to cylinders ?

another question still .. what should the fuel pressure be at idle and open wide throttle for a 2005 s type 3.0 ? I know this model has NO shradder valve to mechanicly check fuel pressure , fuel pressure sensor was also replaced recently NO change ..

Here are the fuel system specifications for the X200/X202. Use a smart phone with the Torque app connected via a Bluetooth interface to read fuel pressures.

Perhaps this is already buried somewhere in this thread, but has the fuel filter been replaced? If so, inconsistent fuel pressure can be caused by a failing or weak pump or restriction in the fuel lines.

thanks NBCat,

from I m getting the fuel pressure is way too high most of the time is at 381 kpa ... how Do I accurately test the pump or any suggestions ? or should I just replace the fuel pump and are there two sending units ?

this could be part of your issue. High pressure forces more fuel in causing a rich condition. How are you measuring it? .
