Hi all, as ever its great to read through this forum for ideas, inspiration and fixes. I have trawled through a lot of past information on my particular problem but have not been able to come up with the right answer im afraid.

Basically, my reverse park sensors do not appear to be working. When i put the car into reverse (Auto box if that makes a difference) i get nothing, no short beep, single long beep to indicate a fault, its just silent.

I have been out the back of the car with the ignition on and in reverse gear and put my ear to each rear sensor, and i am getting the audible clicking from each one, which indicates to me they are working. I have been in the boot (trunk) and can see the control module on the left side spare wheel well where it should be and this appears to be intact, dry and all cabling going to it appears to be in good order.

The only thing i have not checked yet is the actual speaker itself, does anyone know where it lives please so i can check it out?

My car is the 03 MY s-type 4.2 non-supercharged.

 

IIRC it's on the rear parcel shelf and a pain to get at.

thanks for the info guys, at least that gives me a starting point. i have removed the under cover to the parcel shelf within the boot & could not see anything, so would i be right to assume its in the car itself under the parcel shelf?

Can you lift the trim easily on the shelf?
