S-Type 2001 4.0 won't start

Starter spins but not engaging
How do I remove starter?

Are you sure it's not that the engine spins (probably faster than usual) but does not fire?

Because then you would likely have "bore wash". There are threads about it - only the 4.0 is likely to suffer - and how to cure it.

Starter clicks clan hear the whirling of the starter but not engaging into flywheel

Download JTIS Workshop Manual at no cost from this forum to review and follow procedure for removing the starter motor.

You can also perform a search as this has been discussed several times in the past.
