After 3 years stirling service my Gold year 2000 S-Type died last weekend with a throttle body failure and a few other issues that made it uneconomical to repair.

So, I did what any of us would do and went i bought another one!

I now have a fantastic March 2004 S-Type 3.0 V6 SE in British racing Green (photos in my profile) and i have to say it is awesome - one owner from new, full jaguar service history verified with dealership and of course its the remodel version with all the nasty ford budget cuts gone! You can really feel the difference between the remodel and the original, especially with respect to the gearbox and the ride on the road.

But....I am a bit confused about the phone wiring.

The new S-Type has Sat Nav/Touchscreen and Jaguar Voice installed already. It has the jaguar branded GSM phone in the armrest as well. Pressing the phone button on the centre console tells me the phone is not fitted however and sure enough the GSM Phone will not switch on.

I have read the various threads here about converting to bluetooth - which i want to do - but am a bit confused about the wiring i have. I have taken the armrest bottom out and found a black cable that goes into the back of a small black box positioned inside the armrest compartment - the end of this has an RJ-45 socket on it into which plugs the cable coming from the GSM Phone. I have not yet been brave enough to pull the CD Changer/DVD unit out in the boot to hunt for the phone module....

Most of the wiring diagrams i have seen are for the North America S-Types and not the Rest of World ones which we in the UK fall into.

Is it likely that a March 2004 S-Type in the UK was prewired for Bluetooth? I have ordered a bluetooth module from a local breaker for £120 but need to know what I am facing in terms of wiring and maybe a phone module?
