Default s type 2007 my-80887 3.0 v6

Hello all, I am looking to replace the bottom ball joints on the vertical link on my front suspension. Been looking around various web sites but not sure which is correct. The nearest one I have come to is a lemforder, part number-36745-01 from Auto Dock. the ball joint faces upward in the verticle link but I think it is pressed up ward into the link. can anyone help or advise me of the part please. I live in Warrington Cheshire uk. Kind regards, Frank

On the facelift vehicles from MY 2002.5 to 2008, the front vertical link contains the lower ball joint that is pressed in with the threaded part facing upwards.

The OE part from Jaguar sells for £652.96 including VAT, but if you can replace just the lower ball joints themselves, they're available on eBay for around £25 each.

As NBcat wrote: The 2002 model change introduced the ball-joints, which face upwards (they were facing downwards before). I see that as a huge improvement - from things I have heard the downwards facing ones need to be replaced more often. Swapping them is very doable.

According to Britishparts, the P/N is BPC106:

For me (in Australia) Britishparts is very expensive on postage - but I think it's perfect for you, as you are in GB.

It is quite some time ago that I swapped my ball joints - I just googled, if I had written anything about it, and I found this:
https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/s...l-arms-264748/

While this thread is about the upper control arm joints, I am also referring in post #7 in that thread to ball joints, and I linked a video, where someone got nearly crazy about trying to remove the ball joints - and then it all came back to me: It CAN BE quite difficult to remove the old ones. I did not have to many troubles about it, but that is, because I am in Australia, and here we do not have salt on the roads, i.e. less corrosion. The guy in Vienna in the video had massive problems, because of corrosion and because he removed the complete linkages first and tried then to remove the ball joints. That is not the way to go. And if I recall correctly, you need a special ball-joint-puller for that job.
